Throughout August, the boardwalk at Noosa Marina turns into an open-air gallery. RenAIssance in Noosa is a free outdoor art exhibition by local artist Steven Hill, with a series of large-format works lining the waterfront from one end of the Marina to the other.
The idea behind it is a playful one. Each piece reimagines the people of Noosa Marina in the style of the Renaissance masters - the ferry skippers, restaurateurs, shopkeepers and regulars who give the Marina its character. Following the trail along the water, visitors are likely to spot a few familiar faces along the way.
The exhibition is on display day and night for the whole of August, and there is no charge to view it.
Steven Hill is a mixed media photographer and printmaker based at Cootharaba, working under the name Bulumbeer Art. His practice turns photography into expressive, themed collections, each built around a distinct visual idea. For this exhibition he has worked on canvas and brushed aluminium, choosing materials that hold up to the weather while the works are on show along the boardwalk.
Steven's wider collection can be seen during Noosa Open Studios, held from 14 to 23 August.
His studio at 507 Cootharaba Road, Cootharaba is open daily from 10am to 4pm across the event.
Visitors are invited to vote for their favourite work through the People's Choice Award. Each piece carries a QR code - scan it, fill in the short voting form, and the vote is counted. There is no limit on how many works a person can vote for, though each work takes one vote per person.
Every vote also goes into the draw for prizes donated by Noosa Marina businesses, including Café VinCino, Downward Dog Hot Yoga, Dusty's Kitchen, Noosa Gelato House, Harbourside Hats, Lucio's Marina, Luxury Boat Hire Noosa, Maharani Marina, Noosa Ferry & Cruise Co, The Marina Bar, Peli's, The White House, Noosa Queen and Noosa Cruiser. Prize winners will be drawn from the votes received, with prizes collected in person at the Marina.
Voting is open to those aged 18 and over and closes on 31 August 2026. The work with the highest number of votes will be named the 2026 People's Choice winner.

The exhibition suits a slow morning or afternoon. Wander the trail with a coffee in hand, stop for lunch at one of the Marina's waterfront restaurants, and finish with gelato by the river. The trail is self-guided, so there is no set pace to keep.
Noosa Marina sits on the river at Tewantin. The Noosa Ferry stops right at the Marina, which makes for a relaxed way to arrive from Noosaville or Noosa Heads, and a handy option while roadworks continue on the Doonella Lake Bridge.
