Make a morning of it at Noosa Marina this Sunday. Internationally touring slide guitarist 8 Ball Aitken brings his swamp blues and blues-rock to The Marina Bar Noosa while the Noosa Marina Markets are in full swing along the waterfront.

Join us as 8 Ball Aitken performs at The Marina Bar from 10am to 1pm on Sunday 11 October, alongside the Noosa Marina Markets, which run from 8am to 2pm.

Arrive early and wander the market stalls for local makers, fresh produce and handmade finds. Little ones can join The Great Noosa Marina Treasure Hunt, searching for seven hidden sea creatures along the boardwalk. Then settle in at The Marina Bar for a late breakfast or long lunch with live blues on the river.

8 Ball Aitken has toured the world for more than a decade, taking his swamp-soul and blues-rock to twenty countries. The Brisbane-born singer, songwriter and slide guitarist is known for blending country music with Australian blues and roots. His songs have earned plenty of recognition. “Yellow Moon” won Blues and Roots Song of the Year at the 2008 Q Song Awards, and “Outback Booty Call” took out Country Song of the Year the following year. “Cowboy Movie” was also nominated for Australian Blues & Roots Song of the Year at the 2009 APRA Music Awards.
In 2012 he moved to Nashville, Tennessee, where he spent nine years working with some of the most respected names in blues. His album Swamp Blues 2 was recorded at Yellow Dog Studios in Wimberley, Texas, with drummer JJ Johnson (Tedeschi Trucks Band, John Mayer) and bassist Glenn Fukunaga. His albums Ice Cream Man and Ice Cream Man 2 both went to number one on the Australian Blues & Roots Charts. In 2021 he also placed second at the International New Orleans Cigar Box Guitar Festival
