Based on the Sunshine Coast, TOKO bring the sounds and spirit of the Pacific to the stage with a blend of reggae, island and roots music. The band came together in January 2025 when a last-minute call for a live act led to a first rehearsal on the clifftops at Point Arkwright in Coolum. Within weeks they had played their debut show, opened the Kawana Night Markets and released their first single. Fronted by Skillz FJ on lead vocals, rhythm guitar and ukulele, the lineup draws on a group of multi-instrumentalists, with bass, keys, drums, percussion, saxophone and flute all part of the mix.
Their sound is grounded in classic roots reggae, layered with smooth island melodies and a contemporary edge, and their sets are built around warm grooves and a strong sense of culture and community. TOKO have performed at venues and events across the region, including The MET in Maroochydore and their own concerts in Coolum and Cooloolabin, and they have quickly built a loyal local following. Their shows suit a relaxed afternoon by the water, so settle in with a drink and enjoy an island-inspired soundtrack at Noosa Marina.
